Resumo:
Against the social dysfunctions caused by organizational practices at exacerbated quest for the
maximization of profits, consequently, growth in a market in constant changes and the
maintenance of competitiveness, besides the absence of public policies, comes the need for
social innovation, to execute practices through social projects for the different areas of
society, in order to minimize the impacts caused by the strategies adopted by organizations
and ignored by public policies. That said, this study aimed to map the social demands for
social innovation in the city of Sousa, Paraíba. As a basis, the indicators addressed by the
IDH, applied in the city of Sousa with the beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program were
used. The study is an exploratory and descriptive research, and used as a data collection tool a
questionnaire composed of 20 objective questions, according to health indicators,
income/Work and Education, addressed by the IDH. The results obtained from the research
reveal that in relation to health, 20.33% of the beneficiaries does not have outpatient care
(hospital, UBS, UPA) near their homes, 40.38% go to the dentist only when they need and
19.78% they say they do not have sanitation structure in their locality. With regard to
income/work, 66% of respondents say they have no future expectations with the labor market,
linked to that 83% said that a family member or known, looking for a job and can not. Still
among the relevant results, 46% of respondents know some kid or teenager lesser than 15
years, performing some work activity. In education indicator it was found that 85.64% of the
beneficiaries know someone illiterate and 96.48% reported interest in attending in the future a
college education. In conclusion, they pointed to potential opportunities for social innovation
development in line with the results obtained.
