Abstract:
Now the world is going by a globalization process generating changes in the society and in
the organizations, such as the technological progress, the economical and social aspects,
and political and the increase in the speed in the transmission of the information. This
phenomenon might have promoted alterations in the dynamics of the posture of the
companies, tends in view a larger competitiveness, also generating impact in the
environment. These factors should be observed by the public beings, in the sense of
promoting a well to be social in balance with the natural resources, and reducing the impacts
in the environment generated by those progresses. Before this scenery, this research is
resulted of a theoretical-empiric study about the identification of the values invested in the
preservation of the environment in the cities of Joao Pessoa and Campina Grande/PB in the
period from 2006 to 2009. The study was guided being considered not only the
bibliographical aspects, but, above all, the theme was approached under the practical focus
involving the city halls object of the study. It is a qualitative and descriptive research. The
sample was selected by convenience among universe of 223 municipal districts paraibanos,
choosing the two larger cities of the State of Paraiba. In that way, for the analysis of the
results it was observed that the investments made with environmental preservation by the
city halls in analysis they were in larger volume, accomplished by the Municipal City hall of
Campina Grande, that invests 73,89% more the in resource than the Municipal City hall of
Joao Pessoa. However, this last one sprays these resources in larger amount of actions and
