Resumo:
The university plays a transformative role in social, environmental and economic
development of the region where it operates. The expansion of higher education has been
intensified by the great economic development of the 70s, with the emergence of private
institutions to meet the aspirations of professional qualification of the new middle class. The
importance of quality of higher education is something passive monitoring and regulation for
non trivialization of education and recognition of professional training and education
institutions. The assessment of knowledge is accomplished through the learning level
absorbed by the students and this can relate or not, the external variables to the academic
environment. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between these variables
and academic performance coefficient of the students of management UFCG / CCJS, so that
you can show or not, some correlation between the two. Justifies the importance of this
research by concern that the university should have about actors who perchance may interfere
with the learning of their students. The theoretical foundation is backed by three points: the
historical context of higher education in the country, because of the great expansion leveraged
by the influence that the various stages experienced by the economy exercised in the
formation of several top-level professionals over the years; in the administration of education
in Brazil, with the beginning directed to meet the state's demands, but with the increasing
industrialization, has become a key point for the economic development of the country; and
the quality of teaching in the university in Brazil, the role that the university plays in society
and the commitment to professional qualification. The research is characterized as descriptive,
seeking to discover the existence of associations between variables and are classified as
literature review, it is developed with material already prepared on the subject, and of course,
due to the collection of the information to the students. Establishing itself as an bibliographic
research, which used the work already performed based on the data collected as subsidy and
comparison tools that test the connection between the variables and performance. As a result
it was observed that there is no relationship of evidence among most of the variables with the
performance of students, but some of them, such as gender and choose the desired course,
showed that influence the achieved level of income and thus open new field for more detailed
research on the subject.
