Resumo:
The present article aims to problematize and discuss the consequences that the current use of
scientific speech has on the savoir-faire of the contemporary psychoanalytic clinic. In order to
begin the discussion we take as a motto the constitution of science and its purposes, going
through sections of the work of important epistemologists like Bachelard, Koyré and Chatelêt.
Then we perform a counterpoint between science and psychoanalysis, locating the subject's
position, how it is encompassed in psychoanalysis, and what consequences scientific
discourse has in subjectivity, for that we use Lacanian psychoanalytic literature that
contemplates the scientific questions applied to psychic suffering with authors such as Miller,
Lacan, Laurent and Dafunchio. When we speak of scientific discourse and its uses, linking
them to Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, we do not fail to touch on the question in which
capitalist discourse inserts itself. Finally, we relate some clinical issues that are evident in
contemporary times and how psychoanalysis has tried to address such issues.
