Resumo:
Male domination in several nobler sectors is something that has been perpetuating over time. As far as the transit of women in politics is concerned, there are undoubtedly innumerable reflections that can be broached. We have that the struggle of women for the spaces of power comes loaded with many challenges and obstacles that insist on placing them in the private sphere, often seen as synonymous with deprivation, while men permeate in the public sphere, intertwined with power, perks and prestige. Thinking about the insertion of women in politics reminds us of the gender inequality in human and social relations and the patriarchy still in force. In this sense, this scientific investigation aimed to examine and understand the participation of women in the space of political representation, to verify how the dynamics of the insertion of women in this space of power works, to reflect on the theme of gender, to understand male domination and its imbrications, To reflect on the feminist struggle that gauged women's legitimation and recognition in the spaces of power, including politics, patriarchal ideology still influential on
human relations in society and on the Law, discrimination and prejudice in the political space and its commanded institutions In its great majority by men, the inefficacy of the quota law, as well as other themes that deserve to be highlighted in the present work. To do so, for a correct understanding of our analysis, we focused our research on councilors in the city of João Pessoa and in the Deputies of the State of Paraíba, through a qualitative approach, returning us to capture a reality that can not be quantified. The data collected were given through interviews based on a questionnaire that addresses some essential issues for the apprehension of relevant points on the subject treated.
