Resumo:
The present study has as main objective the study of euthanasia from the perspective of the
right to life foreseen in the constitution of the republic of 1988, seeking the insertion and
effectiveness of constitutional principles, such as the principle of the dignity of the human
person and the autonomy of the will as a starting point for the realization of the right to a
dignified death for all human beings. In addition, the study will seek to present the main
differences between euthanasia and its variations, such as orthothanasia, dysthanasia,
eutahanasia and assisted suicide. The importance of palliative care that has not practical
effects will also be demonstrated, but provide relief from pain and suffering to patients who
are terminally ill. The historical cultural and religious context, in comparison with the
treatment given to euthanasia in Brazil and in other countries, highlighting the aspects of
bioethics and the biology, seeking, from the understanding of the topic, finding viable
solutions to the question of euthanasia in Brazil, as well as the possible regulation of it in the
Brazilian legal system. As for the methodology, the medium to be used for the best deepening
in this time, will seek to identify the causes of the problem presented. The data will be
obtained by the deductive method and will be evaluated by means of a qualitative design.
