Health is the basic right of every citizen and the State must guarantee public policies of
prevention, protection and control of diseases, facilitating the user's access to actions and
publics services. The public policy Strategy Family Health (ESF) presents a new vision of the
process of health intervention in that it doesn't wait for the population to come or visit the
Basic Health Units (UBS’s) to be attended to, acting preventively and going to meet the
citizen from a new model of attention. The main objective of the research was to know the
perception of the ESF users of the municipal district of São Francisco / PB regarding the
provision of services related to public health policies. The methodological procedures for the
purposes were delimited in an exploratory and descriptive study and as for the means in field
research and documentary; The nature of the approach was qualitative and quantitative. The
studied universe was composed by 3,603 users of the Unified Health System (SUS) and the
sample represented by 186 people. The data collection instrument was used as a structured
questionnaire and was randomly applied in the communities in the city under study.
Considering the discussion of the results, it is concluded that most of the users of the ESF of
the municipal district explored present positive perceptions regarding public health policies
and services offered, according to the ten dimensions worked. However, there was a certain
political-partisan involvement in the perception-evaluation of the inquired, but a positive
evaluation of the public health and competence of the professionals involved was observed.
