Resumo:
his study consists in describe the degree of knowledge shown by the managers of apparel
industries of the city of Catole do Rocha/ PB on the concepts of ethics and the practice of
Corporate Social Responsibility. The paper addresses the theoretical aspects of the Ethics
and Corporate Social Responsibility, in order to emphasize their importance in the business
world, given that this is a new vision of management. The ethical and transparent
management that establish mechanisms for dialogue with different stakeholders of the
company, seeking to incorporate to the business expectations of stakeholders impacted by
the performance or the organization, giving them a competitive edge in the market. The
methodology used in developing this work was based on bibliographical and field research,
so the research can be characterized as descriptive. The approach used in data analysis
was quantitative. The data were collected from a list of active apparel industries in the city of
Catole do Rocha/PB. This relationship was granted by the city tax collector. According to this
government office (the collector), there are around twenty-seven (27) companies active in the
city, which constitute the universe of this research. However, it was used a non-probability
sample by accessibility and were addressed by 14 companies (sample), since the other 13
are enrolled by the institution as active, but are not working. Along with the 14 companies the
information was collected through a structured questionnaire with clear and objective
questions, answered by the managers of these companies. As a result, judging from the
replies to the questionnaire, it was noted that managers are aware of concepts related to
Corporate Social Responsibility, but this concept comes to be confused with philanthropy.
Moreover, they find relevant to have an ethic overview of business in conducting business.
Most companies surveyed works with social actions to society, because, according to them,
that generates benefits for the organization. However, although believing in the positive
impact the company, by the improvements stemming from social actions committed by them,
do not adopt strategies for carrying out such practices of social activities.
