and its economy, since they represent one of the largest means of employment in the country and its
development. In this sense, the present research seeks to describe the succession process, in the view of
the successor, of family companies associated with the Chamber of Warehouse Managers (CDL) of the
city of Cajazeiras - PB. For this, the research carried out is of a quantitative nature, characterizing itself
as a field study, exploratory and descriptive, carried out with the successors of 5 family companies
linked to the Chamber of Shopkeepers. Data were collected through a questionnaire containing open
and closed questions, based on the study by Bonn (2013). For their treatment, the use of average was
chosen and for a better presentation of the results the Excel 2013 Software was used. The successors'
answers to the objective questions, which basically consisted of forming a profile of the respondents and
Of the companies, were presented in graphical forms for a better visualization, and the descriptive detail
of the evolution of each company and the exposition of the possible successors were also made in the
analysis section. In general terms, companies do not present succession planning, but they perform
tacitly. Most successors have been inducted and directed from children to family business administration
and have managed to separate conflicts and family matters considerably from professional matters.
