Abstract:
Learning Styles are the way in which subjects integrate with learning conditions, including affective, physical, cognitive and environmental aspects that favor the processing of information in the search for alternatives that facilitate the initiation and the learning process itself. To unravel the constructions of educational practices that motivate success. Based on this assumption, the present research was aimed at analyzing the learning styles of the students of the course of Accounting Sciences of FAFIC, in relation to the basic subjects of the Course. Therefore, this research was a case study, quantified, with a descriptive procedure. The study was carried out at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Cajazeiras - FAFIC installed in the municipality of Cajazeiras - PB, thus, of a universe of 132 students of the courses in Accounting Sciences the sample was formed by 60.6% of the universe corresponding to 80 students of the accounting sciences course of that institution, selected by the simple random statistical technique. Data were collected during the months of November and December of 2016. For tabulation of the data, the Excell® spreadsheet was used in this study and for the interpretation between the relationship of learning styles and their influence on academic performance. The results showed that the profile of the students of the FAFIC accounting sciences course belong to both sexes and are mostly young, unmarried, aged between 21 and 28 years and do not work. And according to Kolb's styles, the predominant learning style in this study was the Assimilator, which stands out for its inductive reasoning and for its ability to create abstract and theoretical models, those belonging to this style are individuals who are more interested in Logical aspect of an idea rather than its practical value. A strong assimilating component can lead the individual to "build castles in the air" and be unable to apply their knowledge in practical situations. It was concluded that varied teaching strategies can make learning styles more flexible and, once the student is more flexible in relation to his / her styles, the same will tend to be more successful, whether within or outside the academic field.
