Resumen:
This paper aims to highlight the importance of management indicators for the Company's
water supply system Water and Sewers of Paraíba - CAGEPA in several municipalities of
Paraiba backlands. As for the methodology used to develop this study we carried out a field
research - in Catolé Municipalities Rock, St. Benedict and Pombal - in which were made a
survey of the management indicators used. Data were treated from using Microsoft Excel, and
then were presented in tables and graphs with their respective analyzes. That done, it is
concluded that the agencies of CAGEPA of the municipalities surveyed, are used in some
management indicators such as water (water collected and distributed), human resources
(number of employees, qualification, etc.), technological development (automation and
information system control and updated register) and physical indicators (connections with
water meters) that are of paramount importance to use of management indicators in the water
supply in the cities studied, in view of the need to meet the highest levels of management the
management company, providing an effective diagnosis of supply companies which makes it
a great advantage in sustainable water resources. However, it is suggested in this research, it
is suggested that the financial indicators are adopted, to improve the management and control
of water supply systems that are provided by CAGEPA in the municipalities, to thus have a
control of the costs, expenses and how to check its liquidity, profitability.
