Resumo:
This work aimed to analyze the property management and entrepreneurial profile of the rural producer, a study carried out at Fazenda Javigor, in the municipality of Cajazeiras-PB. The methodology used was a qualitative analysis. A visit was made to learn about the agricultural activities currently developed on the farm under study, as well as a questionnaire, validated by Meira (1996), with the intention of classifying the producer according to the conceptual model based on characteristics classified by Dornelas (2005) on the ideal profile of an entrepreneur, his greater or lesser approximation of this profile. The delimitation of the profile of the rural producer reached the following results: 1) The rural producer has a good level of entrepreneurship, with features such as: being a visionary, making a difference, knowing how to exploit opportunities to the maximum, creating value for society, be organized, plan, have determination, dynamism and dedication, be optimistic and passionate about what you do, be independent and have knowledge of the activities that are developed on your property; 2) As a manager, the position of the producer under study contributes to his economic success, as he has a clear vision of his objectives and actions, despite the lack of tools for financial control of rural property. The results of the work make it possible to conclude that the entrepreneurial stance of the rural producer makes a difference in the exploration of similar environmental contexts, increasing his chances of economic success. As it also emphasizes the imminent need of public and private bodies committed to rural development in the Northeast region, to take actions to meet the needs of small rural owners, contributing to the greatest possible number, especially the youngest, to have access to training aimed at providing them with technological, managerial and organizational tools capable of changing this reality of dependence on small rural landowners in the Northeast region.
