Résumé:
Investigate the approach to care for patients affected by erysipelas in the
municipality of Cuité / PB, Brazil. Method: Documentary-descriptive research, with
quantitative approach developed in the Family Health Strategies services and in the
Municipal Hospital. The study was carried out using data obtained from medical records
of all patients affected by erysipelas, from January 2011 to December
2018. Results: 102 cases of the disease were found, most of them female
(57.8%), with a mean age of 70.19 years. Pharmacological treatment was the most adopted
(95%), but non-pharmacological treatment was also used, with emphasis on:
elevate the lower limbs; bandaging the leg to relieve the edema; perform daily cleaning
the injury; apply local compress daily; elevated headboard 30º; and change the position
every two hours. Conclusion: The findings of this research are important for managers and
health professionals directly involved in the care of these people, in order to know
better on erysipelas, above all to organize services, to work at the level of prevention and
offer quality assistance.
