Abstract:
The application of inventory management systems in organizations in the current
marketing environment is a way for companies to refine their activities, ensuring the
availability of goods and minimizing costs, aiming to maximize the return on capital,
operational efficiency and optimize customer service. Thus, this study aims to
highlight which system best inventory control applies to a company in the motorcycle
parts industry in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. This research used a qualitative approach,
being classified as the objectives as exploratory and descriptive; on the technical
procedures such as literature and case study, using the non-participant observation
and interview data collection and procedures for qualitative analysis and
interpretation of data. In the study it was found that the company has an information
technology system, but is based on experience and intuition to manage their
inventory and make their decisions, by using inventory control models in the
literature, we observed that carry with benefits limitations and, on that basis, it was
proposed as an MRP system best suited to the company in question, pointing out
that the restructuring of the current system, plus tools like calculating the reorder
point, safety stock, inventory turnover, forecast demand and ABC classification would
reflect in positive impacts on the order of maintenance costs of inventory, customers,
profitability and competitiveness of the business, ensuring a more balanced
management.
