Abstract:
This research aimed to the influence of learning styles on students of management courses, Accounting and Human Services, Federal University of Campina Grande Campus de Sousa, Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters Cajazeiras - FAFIC, School Santa Maria - WSF Cajazeiras and San Francisco School of Paraiba - FASP of Cajazeiras. As for typology, we used the descriptive and bibliographical in nature with qualitative approach. Data collection occurred through objective questionnaire divided into two sections where the first was the student's profile and the second the identification of learning styles through the Learning Style Inventory of Kolb. For analysis and tabulation of data to spreadsheet Excell® was used and the relationship between learning styles and their influence on academic performance two hypotheses were created where accepting each other would be rejected. The sample included the participation of 621 students distributed in four Institutions of Higher Education this research. In the overall analysis, there was no evidence that the academic performance of students was influenced by their learning styles, however one must keep in mind that the recognition of these styles is an important factor to support teachers in their teaching strategies to achieve the educational goal what learning is, but it is also important that the students know their predominant style, your strengths and weaknesses so that they can strengthen other learning styles thereby facilitating their learning inside and outside the academic sphere.
