environmental dimensions. Specifically the characterization of the Settlement Santa
Monica, contextualization of sustainability indicators, and the description of the
indicators used were carried out. The research method was the case study, with the
information obtained from the application forms the 27 settlers and an interview with
the president of the Association of Settlement. It was found that the most accessible
indicators in the settlement were: housing, the indicator of sanitation and hygiene,
and the indicator of social capital. The others had negative points, these being the
indicator of health, education, economic, leisure and also the environmental indicator.

sustainability as basic aspects of living conditions and environment-related practices
still need substantial improvements. As suggestions in the short term, it is necessary
to build a school, a health clinic and a new way of source of income from human
capital to improve the living conditions of the settlers.
