Abstract:
This research had as main purpose to verify, through dynamic analysis of working capital, the economic and financial situation of publicly traded companies, from the Information Technology sector listed on BM&FBOVESPA, during the period of 2013 to 2015. We analyzed all the 10 companies of Information Technology sector. Among them, two were belonging to the computers and equipment segment and eight were belonging to the programs and services segment. The financial information (balance sheets) were obtained from the BM&FBOVESPA website. For the analysis, we used the following indicators: Net Working Capital (CCL), Need for Working Capital (WCR), Cash Balance (ST), Own Working Capital (CGP), Required for Long-term (ELP), Financial Situation Thermometer (TSF) and Scissor Effect, as well as the Structure Types and their financial situations. The majority of companies has sufficient resources to invest in their operations (positive CCL) and has short-term excess own resources to finance its operations and to ensure the short-term liquidity of the enterprise (positive ST). On average, the companies were classified as solid financial status, with positive values for the CCL (83%), NCG (56%) and ST (73%).
