Resumo:
Transgender people are invisible, excluded in various contexts, whether at work, in organizations or education institutions. And school propagates more paradigms and, not only, also produces it, which makes the remained of these subjects in the educational institution. We intend to identify the social representations that the media - the “Folha de S.Paulo” newspaper - develops about transgender individuals in the institutional context of education, as well as detect whether there are positive aspects or success stories reported on individuals and how they appear. The criteria used for the selection of the analyzed material was to make use of the material which had the account of the experience of the transgender subject within the institutional context of education, resulting in 24 reports published from May 2003 to July 2014. This work is characterized as a qualitative research. The methodology used was thematic content analysis. Two main areas were identified, namely: who appears when we speech about “trans” (who else is spoken); and what is said, in fact, when you are publishing on transgender. On that, two were the categories that are most important: the category "Law", related to the scope of the jurisprudence; and the category "Experiences", on the educational experiences of the subjects. We conclude that the subject is presented as someone who needs come under dispute to be recognized and their rights guaranteed; and that the family appears as strong supporter and the principal support for the trans. This people are in process: physical process to adapt the body to gender identity, judicial process to ensure their citizenship, social process to be recognized. Is someone who stars in a process of change as the achievements and social relations.
