Resumen:
This paper presents the report of my internship experience in psychology, which concerned to demonstrate the importance of psychomotricity for children with down syndrome. The Psychomotricity studies and investigates the integration of motor and mental functions, highlighting the relationship between the motricity, the mind and affection of the individual. Therefore, for the treatment of children with Down Syndrome (DS), it becomes an important tool for the overall development of these, since it worries about the body moving, stimulating motor skills, cognitive and affective functions. The studies highlighted that the DS patients have a developmental delay, both the motor functions of the body, such as cognitive and affective functions. Thus, through psychomotor activities in the institution, it was found that the psychomotricity is a form of effective treatment for these children, after all the incentives of body movements provide a gain for your motor, cognitive and psychological skills. It can be concluded that the psychomotricity helps with the evolution and development of individuals with Down Syndrome, providing resources to a better quality of life.
