Resumo:
This work provides an analysis regarding how to incorporate humanisation actions in the scope of hospital interactions. This analysis is based on our experience as an intern at the children's wing at the public hospital in Campina Grande, Paraíba. This internship was supported by the Federal University of Campina Grande. Our results emphasise the importance of having a humanised environment. Moreover, they helped us to come up with possible ways of inserting more human-related interactions, aiming at minimising the hard time that patients and their parents (who are with them during admission) often have. We also discuss how physiologic treatments can be improved when using humanised actions. For that, we report examples in which the humanised actions helped us to achieve great results. Finally, we discuss strategies that might make the admission process less painful and that help to the improve the communication among health professionals, patients and family members.
