Objective: to analyze the evolution of healing of diabetic ulcers treated topically with gel cover containing epidermal growth factor at 0.66%. Methodology: Clinical case study developed in health units of the family of the city of Campina Grande-PB, with two elderly patients with diabetes mellitus who presented diabetic foot ulcers. Daily dressings, evaluations, photographic registry of the lesions were performed to assist in monitoring the lesion response to the applied coverage. Results: healing acceleration was observed, with a significant reduction in lesioned areas, 86.6% for case 1 and 99.6% for case 2, during the eleven weeks of treatment, without discomfort or complications resulting from the use of roof. Conclusion: Coverage showed good tolerability and therapeutic efficacy, however, it is recommended that further clinical trials with larger samples be performed to verify the efficacy and safety of epidermal growth factor in the treatment of diabetic ulcers.
