Resumo:
The nursing process is a method by which nurses investigate, plan, evaluate and provide care. The construction and validation of the nursing research instrument aims at documenting the information collected in an objective, scientific and comprehensive manner, allowing the identification of nursing diagnoses, and the planning of actions directed to that patient, thus generating excellent care. This study aimed to validate clinically the research instrument for the nursing process, focusing on the cardiac patient. It is a descriptive study, of the methodological type, that consists in the investigation of the methods of obtaining, organization and analysis of the data, discussing about the validation and clinical evaluation of the instrument. The sample was composed of judges, nurses of a public hospital in the city of Campina Grande-PB and students of the tenth period of a Nursing course. The instrument was applied to nine cardiac patients. The script was completed by the judges, and the analysis of these, made from the reading of the distributions of the numerical frequencies. After visualizing the results, we noticed that all items had a higher percentage of satisfaction than regularity by the nurses 'evaluation, in contrast to the students' evaluation. We understand this result, because of the lack of experience on the part of the students, about the importance of each of the items in the care delivery. In the face of the finding, we were able to confirm the importance of the data present in the Data Collection Instrument, which function as a means for the best assistance, and for the provision of care based on science.
