Résumé:
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is defined as the abnormal functioning of the venous system, caused by valvular incompetence. Regarding the choice of treatment methods for CVI, techniques that induce increased venous flow should be considered, such as compressive therapy. The occurrence of venous ulcers, mostly denominated chronic wounds as they have a healing time over three months, triggers social impacts that could be avoided by the awareness on the use of compressive therapies as a way to optimize the cicatrization time of the lesions, and demonstrating success throughout the treatment of CVI. Aim: To trace the epidemiological profile of patients with venous insufficiency who use Compressive Therapy. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive study with a quantitative approach, carried out in a Specialized Clinic in Curatives in Campina Grande, PB. The sample encompassed people with venous insufficiency, who present venous ulcer, who are being treated over data collection period. The instrument used for the collection of the empirical material was a semi-structured interview script, in accordance with The National Health Council Resolution No. 466/12. The answers were carefully analysed on Microsoft Excel 2013 ©, where the results, graphs and tables were evaluated. Results The results show that this population, mostly women, aged 60 or over, who have low schooling and who have a monthly family income of up to 5 minimum wages per month. The majority of the population has DM and SA comorbidities. In addition, we can identify that the population has classic characteristics of venous lesions, which are usually single lesions, with conical evolution and presenting reciddivas. We found that the most commonly used CT method was the elastic compression stocking, and that despite the need to use CT for the success of the treatment, the vast majority perceived the improvement with the use of CT, the users did not know why Who use this therapy. Conclusion The results show us the characterization of the CII carrier population, who use CT. This study makes more clear the effectiveness of the methods of Compression therapy used in the research scenario.
