Abstract:
Breast cancer is a malignant neoplasm responsible for the largest number of deaths of women in Brazil and worldwide. It is a much feared disease among women and has a special significance for them. To be discovered with breast cancer, the woman triggers feelings of inferiority, as well as fear, anguish and revulsion as the mutilation. For this reason, this research aims to know the perception of women diagnosed with breast cancer, which had as its guiding question "What is the perception of women is affected by breast cancer?" This is a descriptive exploratory study of qualitative nature that was performed Alcides Carneiro University Hospital in the city of Campina Grande. The subjects of the research foram9mulheres diagnosed with breast cancer and who were not surgical treatment at the University Hospital Alcides Carneiro. For the results three categories were created, Knowledge about Breast Cancer, The feeling of Women diagnosed with breast cancer and Belief Women with breast cancer, most women showed to have a fragile understanding of Breast Cancer , and do not have, in most cases, risk factors for the disease. The change also noted the feelings expressed by women during the disease, from anxiety and fear at diagnosis to feel joy and hope in the course of treatment. Thus, faith in God, addressed by all participants, made a special motive force in search of healing through face the treatments. The study followed the ethical and legal principles that guide research involving human subjects.
