Résumé:
The research undertaken is to enter on a subject which is still little discussed today, it is of great importance: the nursing staff assistance related to care Catheter Peripherally inserted central and how it is to bring a positive impact for both professionals, as well as children in need of such treatment. The work presented herein aims to draw up a protocol of rules and routines on nursing care for the introduction, maintenance and removal of Inserted Central Catheter Peripheral (PICC) in children. The study is the methodological type and assistive technology, and the methodology used, a literature review in journals, scientific articles, electronic journals, protocols and books. Catheters used in health care, without exception, are very expensive. The PICC is not extracted from this reality, but the benefits outweigh this presents factors that may be against their use. The best treatment for the patient is taken as the highest priority. In the analysis of the articles, they mostly give greater emphasis to complications related to PICC and in which environments this type of catheter is used more. Have other areas that are considered of greater than or equal importance, are treated superficially, for example, the nursing care with the catheter and the importance of the nursing staff during treatment with PICC, these elements, notoriously deserve greater emphasis in future research will be carried out. The work is a contribution to various spheres. In the hospital environment, the established protocol is a tool that can serve as guiding nursing staff care for the PICC, facilitating and ensuring their work. In academia, this analysis can contribute to future classes to be taught so that this issue can be included in the schedule of classes and that students can acquire, in a way, some knowledge, even if it is brief, on the subject. Regarding the area of science, the work is to contribute to a review carried out thoroughly, looking for sources as possible updated, so that both the general population, such as health professionals can read and work with the instrument, may benefit using such technology and pair that certainly children who require treatment with this type of catheter, can be addressed properly without the occurrence of problems with the catheter.
