Abstract:
The participation of the nursing student in the scientific initiative enables the strengthening of
their professional identity and achievement of autonomy in their actions , with consequent
qualification of their work process , because it enables the critical and committed training of
future professionals . This is an experience report with a qualitative and descriptive approach
to matters experienced by the author on the occasion of his participation in two Institutional
Program Volunteers in Scientific Initiation and a group of study emphasizing research on
blood pressure measurement in a public university of higher education. Over the reported
vivencias many were ace difficulties from the lack of time to devote further the research
process , the great demand that comes from university to the student , as well as limited
experience in scientific writing. The opportunity as an undergraduate student to participate in
a scientific initiation program made new horizons were opened in my vision at the university
and professional future . Among many learnings , stood out unrest before various situations /
problems to try to solve them , study them and try to understand how and why they happen. It
was possible to demystify the scientific methodology and research process that previously
seemed so distant and complicated.
