Economic development has been characterized in recent decades by bringing comfort and facilitate the life of society. Although he presented several improvements, this development also resulted in negative consequences, such as the impacts to the environment. Therefore, many organizations have committed to adopting a responsible attitude, where concern for environmental preservation and recovery and the welfare of society have become priority issues in their management. In this scenario, are included cosmetics companies, who use their activities to natural resources in almost its entirety. To demonstrate their sustainable practices and actions, these entities use reports, such as the social balance proposed by the GRI. Thus, the main objective of this paper is to analyze and highlight the evolution of environmental information of the cosmetics companies from the information available on the GRI. Thus, a survey was made of the cosmetics companies listed on the BM & FBOVESPA in their reports using the guidelines established by the GRI. That done, the company Natura Cosmetics S / A was chosen They were then analyzed their reports for the years 2010 to 2012 , and used the key environmental indicators in order of evidence them through the vertical and horizontal analyzes . After analyzing the data , it was found that Natura Cosmetics S / A is a sustainable company with social responsibility , since this responds to all proposed indicators positively in the sustainability report, or justify their omission , and seriously invest in projects such as education, sports , music and leisure . The study showed the representativeness of each indicator within a year and its evolution in subsequent years. Also found that despite the growth of its activities, the consumption of water and energy, and emissions of greenhouse gases have decreased during the period studied.
