Resumo:
This work consists in a study the incidence of the social function of the company in
the working environment, with emphasis on health and worker safety. Given the
social and economic importance that the company takes, it is essential to understand
the public purpose to blame it for the physical and psychological damage they cause
to the employees in the work environment. The right to healthy working environment
is essential for the achievement of the right to life with quality, and directly influence
the social integration of the worker and work as a subsistence mechanism. Currently,
many enterprises ignore health and safety standards in the pursuit of uncontrollable
profit and forget that they are dealing with human beings, which must be respected
and protected. So arises the importance of ensuring dignified and proper working
conditions in order to reconcile the social to the economic, that is, to promote
economic and social development, contributing to improving the quality of life and
maintaining the satisfaction of basic needs through adoption of ethical policies and
taking measures that benefit the whole community, especially its internal community.
Therefore, in order to fulfill the purpose of this study, it makes use of the hypothetical deductive method as approach and documentary research method as procedure
method, and use as a research technique, the literature, as well as analysis
legislation and judicial decisions. In this context, to respect their employees,
companies are enabling an effective quality of life and thus fulfilling its social function
as they enhance social relations and boost the economic market. Therefore,
recognizing the social value of work and the dignity of the worker, it is essential for
the development of a free, fair and equal to that objective the Federative Republic of
Brazil.
