Abstract:
This research aimed the light of historical, sociological and legal analysis the study of similar situations to slavery in Brazil today, seeking scan your current concept, characterization, and mechanisms used to combat this social problem. The relevance is justified by the importance of combating forced labor, that even with the evolution of labor rights, is still a reality in contemporary Brazilian society, characterized as a serious violation of the fundamental rights of workers, especially the dignity of the human person. In this context we tried to demonstrate that the current legal mechanisms to combat such practices are not sufficient for effective eradication. Thus, the study proposes innovative actions to combat labor analogous to slavery that involves the articulation of the whole society should unite both repression and prevention of this evil, should pay attention to structural order of this problem, namely poverty and the lack of opportunities that a major portion of the population. The chosen research methodology is justified by the theme of nature and was conducted by the deductive method, relying on a qualitative approach, carried out from a literature review, composed of books and scientific articles, and analysis of related legislation to the topic and jurisprudential and doctrinal positions.
