Resumen:
From the beginning where human aggregations started the life in society, is worth
this gift, this time, was regarded as exclusively vindictiveness, aiming just retribution
for the injury suffered. Evolutionarily begins to emerge in a current of thought which
aims to regenerate the prisoner now as formerly the concept of punishment other
than death or nonexistent corporal punishment. In the new world the first arrests
begin to emerge in Brazil, adopting the same ordering of its metropolis feathers that
prevail are the body and death, until the enactment of our first constitution adopted
packaged by the Enlightenment influence the public rights and guarantees, and are
subsequently replaced corporal punishment by deprivation of liberty. Then comes the
humanistic and social character of worth seeking the recovery of the offender, where
the deprivation of liberty find support just in need of such an act was necessary to
protect society. Thus, the present work aims to investigate the issue of rehabilitation,
through the study of the prison issue and the implementation of practices to this end,
the mechanisms that Brazilian criminal law allows for the implementation of
appropriate treatment to be accorded to the prisoner for the purpose of preparing So
for a return to life in society. To do this survey, the data obtained from field research
conducted by the author within the Agricultural Penal Colony in the Hinterland SousaPB, regarding the conditions of coexistence and respect for the principle of human
dignity in that unit were utilized as well as show actions that have been implemented
to re-socialize the prisoners there collected. Thus, aiming to achieve these goals, the
inductive method as a method of approach, the evolutionary historical method, as a
method of procedure, and as a research technique were used, theoretical, it will be
through literature review, where it employed the doctrines, legislation, case law and
scientific articles as a means to ground and sustain the approach of the object; and
alternative, practical, since for the proposed research topic empirically proven or
