Resumen:
Migrated forced due to the magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter scale earthquake,
Haitians leave their country of origin and where we list another can cross borders
more easily regularize documentation and find better living conditions. Brazil is one of
the countries chosen by the Haitians. Undergoing an illegal and extremely dangerous
journey through Peru, come to Brazil without money and documentation and known
here numerous problems and poor quality of life. This study set out to analyze the
current situation of Haitians in Brazil: the problems faced and which public policies
that exist to help them; what role the UN, and has acted as the federal government
and the NGOs in this situation. Considering that the Haitians are in the category of
forced migrants who do not have their rights protected so positively valued, the aid is
offered to them by the discretion of the receiving country. Moved by the humanitarian
crisis that installs the increasing migration by environmental disasters, this research
sought to make reflections to achieve measures of short, medium and long-term
protection of this class, especially in the case of the Haitian case. For this, we used
the deductive scientific method, through bibliographic research on the subject. It was
concluded that it should first be relaxed semantics issue that differentiates
environmental refugees displaced so that they receive the protection offered by the
Refugee Status, document introduced with the Geneva Convention, as long as the
absence is an instrument of the displaced environmental; later, positivization
category . We also recommend that as a long -term studies and public policy in order
to prevent environmental disasters.
