Résumé:
To meet their needs and also to enrich the man we used natural resources without
thinking of the consequences that would bring the disordered use. However, with the
passage of time, the land became barren, many species of fauna and flora were
disappearing, causing mankind to realize that natural resources were limited and that
to continue its existence, generating life and economic development, needed care
and responsibility by all. Given this reality, the state assumed its role as protector of
the public environmental heritage, creating laws to regulate extractive economic
activity, making the course the following problematic: compared to the extractive
nature of charcoal production, solutions that may be adopted with a view to
sustainability In this sense, the present work, the result of a literature review is to
analyze the production of charcoal in relation to sustainable development, defining
concepts, dynamics of development in the face of sustainability and presents general
concepts on the production of charcoal in Brazil as an economic, while causing
environmental damage, but also a generator of wealth, subject to regulatory and
currently, with incentives from the federal government to guarantee the
transformation of concepts and practical activity. For this, use is made of research
articles published in professional journals as well as books, legislation and
jurisprudence. Uses the descriptive qualitative research as it aims to describe facts
and characteristics related to charcoal production, as well as the question of the
quest for sustainable development. Thus, it can be seen as a result of the fact that
sustainable development is a current need that side imposes both companies, as any
citizen the obligation to engage in issues related to economic, social and
environmental issues, since, only with the participation of all stakeholders, it is
possible to accomplish sustainable development.
