Résumé:
Such work aims to bring to light an issue that is of utmost importance to the Social
Security Law, namely, the increase in life expectancy of Brazilian citizens and its
influence on the Pension Factor in the current calculation of pensions due the period
of contribution and age (optional). The government proposes, using as instrument the
pension factor, to preserve the financial and actuarial balance of the Social
Providence, and uses as one of its indicators life expectancy. However, it is observed
that currently, over the years, Brazilians are living longer and better. All this as a
result of technological innovations, advances in medicine, or even by human
consciousness itself in search of a healthy lifestyle. In this sense, it is verified that, as
this indicated that varies in time, will consequently influence in the final calculation of
pensions, which ends up hurting beneficiaries and the government itself, since in a
few years, there will be many beneficiaries and few taxpayers, what can or is causing
the famous hole of pension. Given these facts it is necessary to review or
establishment by the government of new formulas for calculating the Pension Factor.
For the development of this study the evolutionary-history method was used, and as
a research technique it has been implemented the bibliographical research, by
reading scientific articles, consulting to government websites as well as the current
legislation on the subject.
