Resumen:
Acrocomia instumescens Drude, popularly known as macaíba, is a palm tree with
edible fruits from which its pulp is also extracted. Pulp is macaíba has a lipid profile
rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, in addition to its antioxidants.
However, it is still a little explored species, making the search for information scarce,
but which arouses great curiosity in researchers. Thus, the aim of the present study
was to evaluate the physical and murinometric parameters of adult wistar rats
exercised on a treadmill that consumed the macaíba pulp. For this, 15 male animals,
70 days old, were used, divided into 3 groups of 5 animals: sedentary control group
(CS), exercised control group (CE) and exercised macaiba group (ME). The survey
was carried out over a period of 3 weeks, with all animals being evaluated daily in
relation to their weight and food consumption. At the end of the research, the animals
were anesthetized and the measures of body weight, tail length, waist and chest
circumference were removed, after euthanasia, mesenteric, retroperitoneal and
epididymal fats were removed. For the results, they were submitted to analysis by the
one-way anova, using the T-student test, with a significant difference of p <0.05, in the
statistical program GraphPad Prism version 7.0. Based on all the data obtained, we
observed that even when using the macaíba pulp, the animals did not obtain an
increase in feed consumption or an increase in their body weight, in mesenteric fats
there was a small decrease in these measurements, but in there was no difference.
Thus, we can conclude that the macaíba pulp associated with physical exercise does
not alter food consumption and body weight, but decreases mesenteric fat.
