Resumo:
Hemodialysis services produce a large amount of waste every day. The city of Campina Grande is
currently facing a short age of drinking water, living rationing of it. She stood out this work the interest
in analyzing some of the microbiological characteristics of the effluents produced by the hemodialysis
machines, which are disposed directly in the sewage of the city. The methodological process used for
this study comprised of a described exploratory research and field with a qualitative approach. For
better understanding of this context it has worked as an object of study the four hemodialysis services
in the municipality, and these were analyzed samples of effluent on physical, microbiological, waste
treatment reverse osmosis and environmental impacts. The results could be observed important
information regarding effluents, for the presence of total coliforms, fecal colifo rms, Escherichia coli
and on the heterotrophic bacteria in the samples. Revealing that in all tests performed showed sets
microorganisms. H emodialysis services reutilize the waste water treatment by reverse osmosis, and
environmental impacts is mainly the increased volume of wastewater thrown to the environment, and
many microorganisms contained therein. Thus, considering the laws in force through the National
Environmental Council (CONAMA), it turns out that investments are needed for projects, mainly for
the protection of society and the environment. A ggregation of other instruments is required, in addition
to changing the behavior of health services to improve the management of liquid waste and reduce
environmental impacts that affect the social well bein g. For there is microbiological conditions for
hemodialysis effluent reuse, implementing the proposals contained in the resolutions of CONAMA
and financial investment application.
