Abstract:
The city of Campina Grande- PB is lacking in urban areas preserved in particular ecological reserves. The conservation of these areas provides an improvement in air quality in cities, in addition to improving the quality of life. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the environmental impacts and ecological integrity, in order to support the management of natural resources, in Complex Aluízio Campos in the city of Campina Grande-PB. This research is characterized as exploratory, outlined the method of observation and qualitative, quantitative, descriptive and interdisciplinary analysis of nature. Whereas four main points of analysis: (a) socioeconomic diagnosis, through questionnaires, (b) identification of human impacts, using the Leopold matrix adapted and Geoprocessing, (c) evidence of representatives of the native biota, by surveying articles and books published, (d) predictions for natural resource management, interpretation of the data collected. It was found that the area is anthropic, with various vegetation types: area off quarry; vegetable remnants of large, grazing area, area recovery phase with coverage of secondary succession and areas with presence of economic development aimed at human actions. There is a disorderly exploitation of plant and animal resources by residents and passersby. We identified a significant quantity of wildlife resources, describing the extreme ecological importance of the area with records of representatives from various zoological groups (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and invertebrates). Regarding socioeconomic profile, it was found that mostly locals residents are women, farmers, married, retired and/or beneficiaries of government program. Being over 60 years old, illiterate , living on site for more than 20 years in leased housing, with family groups consisting of up to 07 people. Therefore, it is recommended actions for continuous and permanent environmental education with residents of the area and the surroundings and social mobilization in order to direct actions for the maintenance and restoration of the area studied.
