Over time agriculture was at the mercy of conventional models, the so-called modernization of agriculture machinery idealized systems, monocultures and pesticides contributed to the formation of agroindustrial complexes and the modernization of the estates culminating with the "Green Revolution" based in the capitalist ideology was responsible for the transformation of spaces n aturais due to increased need for food production. The productivist model caused several negative impacts for both the man and to nature, giving rise to the need to develop agriculture production system more sustainable development strategies can help to minimize environmental impacts, biodiversity conservation and socio-cultural diversity. In response to such a question arises as to not Agroecology solver to all the problems caused by the "Green Revolution" more simply as guiding new rural development strategies, styles of a transition to ecologically-based, contributing to the lives of current and future generations. This research was based on conduct a survey of the management of agroecological practices developed by farmers of the settlement in the municipality of Santo Antônio Cajazeiras - PB. The methodology used in the research fits as exploratory and descriptive, qualitative and quantitative in nature. Data collection was carried out semi-structured interviews, testimony and family farmers, field study and participant observation. The work is divided into three chapters besides the introduction and closing remarks. We conclude that agroecological practice in rural settlements is a key element for the change of peasant life especially when they lived on condition of sharecroppers and tenant farmers own land that belongs to today. Being noticeable in their statements such satisfaction to be able to stay at home and work place free of pesticides and monoculture, integrating a new system based on agroecological principles, rescuing traditional knowledge and their experience of peasant associating another reality now adapted to the needs of working the land which belongs to. Settlement in San Antonio family work based on agroecological principles, combined with the other subsistence products toward commercialization, bringing to the market place a greater diversity of products and supply, resulting in a higher valuation of trade região.O settlement of St. Anthony is in the process of agroecological transition, since local biodiversity values, uses no synthetic chemical inputs, in addition, enables the participation of all family members in the productive processes which features a basic ecological family farming.
