Resumo:
The evolution of Campina Grande as an important pole in the current area of development
occurs in parallel with the depreciation of the legacy of urban dams that constitute a source of
natural resources and scenic beauty of the city. Today these water bodies are disappearing,
changing the geographic structure of our city, and the crisis of perception of its real
importance is very real. We can observe the high degree of urbanization in several Brazilian
cities, notably found that generally arise near water sources which derive their sustainability
aquifer, and thus develop without taking into concern for this precious water resource. With
the development and no public policy, cities exploit their natural resources and degraded in
such a way that make them viable, its use and quality of natural resources. Through literature
searches and questionnaires in the population, we can observe the object of study in what
happens characterization of their behavior and social responsibilities. Where it appears that
the issue of renewable natural resources corresponds to the primary drive interdisciplinary,
but this really puts in context the issue of risk management representative of the management
of emerging cities seeking at all costs its full urban development and social capital. So build
an urban environmental history of dams in Campina Grande, PB, before the evolution of the
city, is a reference to observe the potential and strength as a factor of social and economic
development that represents the situational need for quality of life its residents. The
mainstream media has a number of technologies and practical issues that may be relevant to
the environment. The Inconsistent form of urban development, proves to be ineffective in the
usual demand of water resources, and also practical issues for the population that live in these
ecosystems and their uses interactive form of continuous, thus sharing with his own act of
contributing to intervene these springs. With the knowledge though, although very expressive,
the population can and should take means that would mitigate the human impacts derived
from their actions. The involvement of all segments of society become essential to the use and
management of these watersheds, thereby applying a practice that may perpetuate or at least
maintain conditions in accordance with the laws prevailing quality of life of residents and the
elements components of these ecosystems. Therefore this study delimit a posture that seeks to
achieve the terms, rules and legal concepts aware of our attitudes.
