Resumo:
The objective of this study is to propose a model to reveal the levels of binding of family farming with the principles of alternative and sustainable development, structured dimensions, variables, topics and indicators that originated the system of indicators titled DASAF. To this end, an exploratory survey of quantitative and qualitative was performed mainly approached the alternative development (Berkhout, et. al., 2010; Nnaemeka, 2009; Santos, 2007; Santos e Rodríguez, 2002; Pieterse, 1998), sustainable development (Sousa, 2013; Baumgartner, 2011; Figuières, et. Al, 2010; Leff, 2010; Vasconcelos, 2010; Rosa, 2008; Chaves e, Rodrigues, 2006; Proops, 2002), and family farming (Paiva e Romeiro, 2013; Hildén, Jokinen, Aakkula, 2012; Ferreira, et. al, 2012; Santos e Silva, 2010; Bursztyn e Bursztyn, 2010; Carmo, 2009; Marques, et. Al., 2008; Albé, 2006; Veiga, 2005; Kageyama, 2004; Moreira, 1990 e 2002; EMBRAPA, 1997; Rezende, 1989). The system DASAF has 115 variables, 38 indicators, 3 dimensions and 03 principles that allows you to check the levels of linkage between practices and values of family farming and alternative and sustainable development. The application of the model was carried out in the rural community of Várzea Comprida dos Oliveiras, located in the city of Pombal - PB. For data analysis the arithmetic mean and function of relativization of the laboratory, secondary data was used and primary collected through questionnaires with family farmers of the rural community. The results showed that the index value of the indicator DASAF system was equal to 0.5271. It is concluded that the practices, customs, values that nourish the existence of family farming in Varzea Comprida dos Oliveiras community showed an intermediate binding with alternative and sustainable development.
