These people, expressed their feelings, their idealizations, besides their experience with the proposed theme, where it was found the vital tone of the narratives. The interviews went through the following processes: transcription, textualization, transcriation and conference, and after this last phase, it was delivered to the collaborators to the conference. The discussion of the material was guided by the vital tone of the narratives, and by the identification of three themes: Solid Residues in Health Services: importance and impasses of the management in the hospital environment; Legal-historical cuts in the management of the solid residues in health services, in the actors involved in the process’ opinion; comparative analysis of the management of the residues in health services in public and private hospital environment. The discourses revealed that some of the collaborators do not know about the residues of the health services, besides they demonstrated that in the past there was no concern about the residues’ handling. It is important to highlight that nowadays there is a concern for making the residues’ management, in a advocated way, by the environmental body, so that damages to the population’s health and to the environment be reduced. It was verified that there are significant differences in relation to the management of these residues in private and public hospital environment. The research verified the effort of both institutions, looking for the improvement of their management with the solid residues, however, there is still a lot to be done in relation to the residues and to the people who depend on these residues for their survival.
