Resumo:
The quest for sustainable development for future generations has caused changes in the management and treatment of water. Against this background, this study aimed to monitor the quality of greywater effluent from a public laundry in unit Controlled Agricultural Production, located in the district of Ribeira in Cabaceiras-PB. The search was conducted in three steps: collecting soil samples and effluent; draw the socioeconomic profile of washerwomen who use public laundry, microbiological analysis, physics and chemistry of greywater: turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity, phosphorus and chemical demand oxygen and chemical analysis of soil and salts. The analysis of the above parameters was necessary to evaluate the efficiency of the system on the quality of greywater among the eight subunits and the water tank. Among the eight subunits in four held the cultivation of Purple Elephant Grass - Pennisetum purpureum Schum aimed at determining the influence of fitorremediation process. Given the results obtained with respect to E. coli was confirmed a significant collaboration on water quality, the other parameters analyzed corroborate with other authors. The data obtained from soil showed little variation during the study periods. The second tank prevailed during all monitoring low pH induced by growing elephant grass purple. Users of public laundry live with simplicity and believe that the installation of this public laundry has become a daily facilitator.
