Resumo:
With the advent of capitalism the changes arising from industrial revolutions triggered
transformations in nature. Humanity has become a consumer and therefore incorrectly
reject more and more. In this context there have been changes in climate, changes
caused by natural cycles, resulting from human intervention in processes similar
characteristics. In this scenario of a globalized world with serious environmental
problems arise in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid dry desertification. This work aims
to instill the causes and effects of desertification process in particular in Paraíba, as a
means to promote through public policies concerned with sustainable development
socio-legal measures that can protect the environment and ensure their use so
ecologically responsible. We used the comparative method, since it makes an analogy
between some countries and Brazil, among some Brazilian states and between cities and
regions. Just as the deductive method, since it assumes that human intervention in
nature generates desertification. Were used primarily to indirect survey, which covered
books, periodicals, magazines and websites, along with documentary research including
direct reports, audio-visual resources and jurisprudence. So with the growing ecological
imbalance and drastic consequences for the population, there was some advancement in
the quest for sustainable development and the institutionalization of environmental law
in Brazil. As a result, we created several lines of defense of the environment that
allowed the recovery and protection of environmental assets. Desertification is, in
Brazil, specifically in the Northeast and would emphasize the Paraíba, has implications
in many different orders. Be social, economic, environmental voracious destruction of
natural resources allows the formation of public policies that inhibit this process
anthropogenic. As a result, actions and programs geoenvironmental nature, formulated
to combat this devastating scenario in Paraiba is positive with praise. Not just public
policies aimed at mitigating the effects of desertification and its related problems, but
also in normative laws appear to protect the environment. Thus, the corresponding
statement of public policy, sustainable development, environmental protection of assets
protected for present and future generations, together with actions relevant to the subject
hinder the advancement of environmental degradation caused by desertification and its
municipalities in Paraíba.
