Abstract:
In this study, we evaluated the use and control of the mobile assets of the Federal University
of Campina Grande (UFCG), Brazil. Specifically, we aimed to identify the material and
human resources available for asset management and the profile of professionals directly
involved. The evolution of public administration was contextualized with three approaches
besides the current administration. The administrative functions were characterized, bringing
a survey of the constitution and public goods of the UFCG. We surveyed all seven campuses
of the institution. The research gathered qualitative and quantitative data through observations
of the patrimony and other sectors that own assets, besides the application of questionnaires to
17 employees working in these sectors. The general and specific objectives were reached. We
assessed the data to describe the status of the use and control of mobile assets in UFCG.
Finally, we provide proposals for improvements and corrections to meet the efficiency
principle.
