Résumé:
The current economic, political, social, technological, and organizational changes present a
new posture for the public sector, in view of an increasingly demanding level of citizenship in
meeting their needs. The transformation of the bureaucratic Brazilian Public Administration
into managerial characterizes one of these modifications. The study aimed to evaluate the
perception that the technical-administrative servants have of their participation in the
management processes within the scope of the Federal University of Campina Grande. The
research was descriptive and bibliographical, with a quantitative approach, developed in
Campi de Cajazeiras, Sousa, Pombal and Patos. The population was constituted by the
Technical-Administrative Servants in Education of the effective staff of the UFCG, totaling
two hundred and thirty six subjects. The sample consisted of one hundred and one
participants. For the data collection, a structured questionnaire was used, applied to the
technical-administrative servers that meet the inclusion criteria. The data were grouped in a
spreadsheet of the program Microsoft Excel 2010 and transported to the software Statistical
Package for Social Science for Windows-SPSS version 20.0, for statistical analysis. The
Likert Scale was also applied, with five points for perception analysis. It was concluded that
the management activity is a complex task and that demands dedication by the server
interested in joining it. The UFCG needs a management model that allows the server to get
involved in issues that go beyond the attributions of its sector and that are related to its
potentialities and competencies. The management time increased according to the position
held by the managers in the institution, which may be linked to the level of training of the
UFCG's administrative technician, who in general presented himself as a reflexive individual
with a good level of education and high power of learning. It was pointed out that the training
of the technical-administrative servants of the Campi evaluated is important due to the
possibility of a greater position in the institutional hierarchy. Facing the reality that permeates
the UFCG as an IFES, the process of qualifying public servants in the premise of the
necessity of a multipurpose server, proactive and that develops a certain degree of autonomy,
is essential, allowing it to act in the face of the eventualities of the work. However, for this,
the intervention proposals for the administrative dynamics regarding the participation of the
technical-administrative server in the management of the UFCG should be considered, in
order to obtain a more critical view of the reality in the development of an assigned
professional of skills, abilities, creativity and a sense of responsibility.
