Resumo:
In the last years, there has never been so much talk about the environment and sustainability due to the increase in fires, extinction of fauna and flora, among others. Therefore, it was important to create environmental protection units to protect the nature that still remains in Brazil. In this way, the present work aims to make a study about the units of environmental protection through an analysis of the Brazilian legal system. For this, a descriptive and qualitative approach will be used, through bibliographic review in books, magazines, dissertations, theses and data on websites. It was found with the work that the main objective of the Conservation Units in Brazil is to keep the resources of nature in their original state, so that current and future generations have the opportunity to enjoy it. As evidenced in the theme and throughout the project, the aim of the research is the units of conservation and environmental protection which, although they are the target of great environmental protection, still suffer from vandalism and neglect. The research concluded that fires in environmental protection units happen every year, but even so, nothing more effective is done to get around the situation. According to the Forest Fire Laboratory website, the best way to fight non-criminal fires during the summer period would be to implement a monitoring system through satellite images as is done in the Amazon or through surveillance towers where on top of the cabin glazing has visibility on all sides and is where the watchman remains.
