Resumo:
Soil is one of the most important natural resources offered by nature, responsible for the survival and maintenance of life on planet Earth. For this reason, it is very important to care for the preservation and its responsible use in a sustainable way of this precious resource on the part of human beings. In this perspective, we developed the research entitled “Soil education as an educational practice contextualized in Cariri Paraibano: The case of the José Bonifácio Barbosa de Andrade School”, whose general objective was to conduct a mediation in the classroom showing the importance of education in soils within the scope of education contextualized at the José Bonifácio Barbosa de Andrade School and present the various possibilities of working the theme in a contextualized way through activities already carried out in the school scope. It was carried out through the assumption of qualitative research in the scope of action research and the application of questionnaires to teachers who work at the school. We found that the research was quite satisfactory, the same, aroused in the students a great interest in participating and learning a little more about the soil, the importance of using it in a conscious and sustainable way. As well, we identified that teachers work the soil theme in their classroom practices in a contextualized way, even working with different disciplines, showing that the theme is in fact treated differently with due importance in the context of the Brazilian Semiarid.
