Gestão socioambiental no Centro de Educação e Saúde da UFCG: uma análise à luz da agenda ambiental na administração pública (A3P).

Abstract

The proper handling of environmental issues arises as a premise for organizations that wish to consolidate their effectiveness, fulfill its institutional mission and promote sustainable development and sustainability. The research analyzes the socioenvironmental management at the Education and Health Center of UFCG along the lines of Environmental Agenda in Public Administration (A3P). For that, it performs the diagnosis of the Institution according to the A3P manual specific to Public Universities and assesses the perception of technical-administrative servers, teachers and graduating students on the subject. Data analysis occurs both qualitatively and quantitatively and uses as data collection instruments a form and questionnaires adapted to the three categories of respondents. At first, university managers and teachers were consulted, and 204 respondents, being 100 of them graduating students, 60 teachers, and 44 technical-administrative servers, in a second phase. The results reveal that the CES socioenvironmental management is at an early stage, with isolated actions, not institutionalized, that could be improved or rethought, as well as gaps in all thematic axes evaluated. More attention is drawn to the issue of raising awareness and empowering staff and students, in addition to aspects related to the management of waste generated, especially hazardous waste. On the other hand, assessments with the highest degree of agreement by respondents focus on the fifth axis (sustainable public buildings). In summary, the research prepares the Institution for the next step established by the A3P Manual, which is to elaborate the CES Socioenvironmental Management Plan.
