Résumé:
Violence against women, understood as any action or conduct based on gender that causes death or inflicts physical, sexual or psychological damage or suffering to women, is a global public health problem and implies alarming indicators, notably in Brazil. There are countless factors that encourage such violence, ranging from the ingrained culture of structural machismo to economic and / or psychological dependence. In this year of 2020, due to the Pandemic of the new coronavirus, it was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), as the best way to contain the spread of COVID-19, social isolation. In this scenario, forced coexistence between couples in the context of isolation, the economic stress and fear of falling ill by Covid-19 were strong triggers for violence. Accentuated by the sexual division of household chores in order to burden women (especially those married with children) and increase women's unpaid work and the real loss of jobs, the excessive consumption of heavy alcoholic beverages by the Covid-19 pandemic, factors have been destabilizing men, potentiating violent behavior in the home. As a result, there was an increase in cases of violence against women, where the victims find themselves at the mercy of a flawed and incipient system of public policies, which proved to be much more precarious in view of the needs in this pandemic period. Thus, the performance of the Public Power in confronting and fighting violence has been the subject of much criticism. Thus, women victims of violence have faced difficulties in making the complaint due to the proximity of the aggressor, given the scenario created by social isolation, which promotes the outbreak of problems and accentuates those that already exist. Along this path, starting from the analysis of the reality of the current scenario faced in the world with the proliferation of the virus, the present work presents the following question: Domestic violence during social isolation, resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the new Corona Virus (SAR -CoV-2), increased? In order to answer the question, the work aimed to research to understand the relationship between the increase in violence against women in this period with the panorama of Covid-19, to the point of radically impacting the scenario that already existed before the pandemic. For the preparation of this study, the deductive method of approach, exegetical-legal and historical-evolutionary procedure was used. As for research techniques, bibliographic research was used in books, magazines, articles and in legislation and documents. The results achieved reveal that the increase in the number of violence against women, according to the data analysis, precedes the pandemic, but it is now more evident because people are living longer and with greater intensity. It is concluded, therefore, that social isolation had a negative impact on the increase in the rate of domestic violence, in addition to accentuating the lack of mechanisms and public policies necessary for the protection of victims.
