Abstract:
This work is about the practice of slavery in Brazil, since the natives with their own people
to the arrived of the europeans, the slave trade and the contemporary slavery. Develops a
theme with the title "The configuration of the slave labor in the brazilian fashion industry".
The search focus on analise the history of slave labor in Brazil, it implications, the national
and international standards about work protections, the necessary characterization of a job to
be considered a slave labor, how work the fashion industry protection, since the recruitment,
until it definitions in law; shows some fashion brands confront to the different forms of slave
labor, especifies state supervisory bodies and brings a survey of the brands that work with
slave labor. Then, it's used deductive approach method, from the general to the private; as a
procedure method, it was used the observational, to collect and analyze the search data, in
addiction to besides the bibliographic method; the search technic was the indirect
documentation, through bibliographic searches, journalistic informations and analysis of
judicial and ad administrative decisions. The choice of the theme must be the intention of
rise question and awareness on the society for absolute necessaries goods and most times
unconscious consumptions. With the objective of provide search for transparency and the
effort of great brands to reach a responsible company status in all the levels of the
production chain. But there's a problem: It's necessary to stop consuming big brands and
companies or boycott them? And it was proved that: in front of judgements and social
appeals, brands that was accused of violating the worker's dignity starts to reeducate
themselves, understanding that is not necessary the consume stoppage, but practice it from a
conscious way, questioning where it comes from and who did produce it, demanding the
transparency from the brand in their productive chain.
