Abstract:
The Zoology, as the other areas of Biology, has been done in the traditional way classroom, basing in textbooks. Thus, there is an impossibility of a closer experience and application of the concepts learned. The aim of this study was to work the contents of the Class Arachnida from different teaching methods to the students of 2nd A (n = 35) of the Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio Orlando Venâncio dos Santos - Cuité /PB, carried from June to October 2015. After checking prior knowledge of the group in relation to the Arachnida (with questionnaireies) were applied five teaching methods: classical expositive classes, laboratory classes, didactic models, palestra and project (at the end of each intervention, a questionnaire was applied). Among the main results, it was highlighted that 80% of the students correctly located the appendages of arachnids after intervention. After the construction of the didactic model, 56% of students have also shown inaccuracies about the anatomy of spiders, while 82% consider this teaching strategy as great. It was also noted that the methodologies employed students liked best were the laboratory class and the construction of the class teaching model, because these interventions approach the teaching of students' everyday lives. It was concluded that the development of practical and playful methodologies can be an alternative to improve the teaching of Animals. Thus, it is necessary that teachers rethink their practices and adopt new methodologies and teaching resources that enable an attractive and meaningful education.
